According to the International Energy Agency, total investment within the U.S. energy sector was valued at $350 billion in 2018 (the second-largest within the world).

A stock during a company whose predominant business is the production or sale of energy. Energy stock may include shares in both upstream companies, like oil exploration firms, and downstream companies, like oil refineries.

The power sector is one of the foremost diversified within the world. Sources of power generation range from conventional sources like coal, lignite, gas, oil, hydro and atomic power to viable non-conventional sources like wind, solar, and agricultural and domestic waste.

Global power investment is about to fall to its lowest level in over a decade in 2020. Reversing expectations of an uptick in spending in 2020, all parts of the facility sector are set to be suffering from mobility restrictions.

Power investment in China, the world’s largest market, is about to continue its downward trend in 2020 because the country faces its first recession in decades, with reduced spending altogether technologies. Though lockdowns were mostly lifted by April and industrial production resumed, energy investment in China has already been dampened by the disruption to investment activity and provide chains.
